Trainee or Experienced Life Raft Service Technician
Location: Darwin NT
Nautical Supplies is seeking a Life Raft Service Technician to join our Darwin team. We welcome applications from both experienced technicians and from practical, detail-oriented people who are keen to learn (Trainee). You will help service essential marine safety equipment for recreational and commercial customers, with training provided for the right trainee applicant.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, service, test and repack life rafts and life jackets in accordance with manufacturer procedures and applicable requirements.
- Identify equipment requiring repair or replacement and prepare accurate service records.
- Maintain a clean, organised service area and handle customer equipment with care.
- Work with the Darwin team to keep customers informed and complete service jobs on time.
- Develop your technical knowledge through training and hands-on experience.
Qualifications
- Previous life raft servicing or marine safety experience is highly regarded but is not required for a trainee applicant.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to following procedures.
- Practical aptitude and confidence working with tools and equipment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- A reliable approach to work and a willingness to learn.

Casual Retail Salesperson
Location: Darwin NT
Nautical Supplies is looking for a Casual Retail Salesperson to join our Darwin team at the front counter. If you have spent years sailing, maintaining boats or helping others get out on the water, this could be a great way to put that knowledge to work. The role may particularly suit an experienced yachty looking for casual work and a chance to stay connected with Darwin’s boating community.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and help them find the right products for their boats and projects.
- Share practical advice on chandlery, safety equipment, marine hardware, and other products.
- Process counter sales and respond to customer enquiries by phone.
- Assist with stock, displays and the day-to-day presentation of the store.
- Work with the wider team when a customer needs specialist product or service advice.
Qualifications
- Practical knowledge of sailing, boating, or marine equipment.
- A friendly manner and a genuine interest in helping customers.
- Confidence communicating with everyone from first-time boat owners to experienced mariners.
- A reliable, hands-on approach and a willingness to learn our product range and sales systems.
- Retail experience is welcome, but your marine knowledge and customer service skills are just as valuable.

Junior Shop Assistant
Location: Darwin NT
We are excited to welcome a Junior Shop Assistant to our team at Nautical Supplies. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals looking to start their career in the marine industry. You will assist with counter sales, phone sales, and help manage stock orders, all while engaging with fellow boating and fishing enthusiasts.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with counter and phone sales, providing recommendations and product information.
- Receive and unload stock deliveries, ensuring accurate inventory management.
- Maintain an organized and appealing shop display.
- Support the sales team in daily operations and customer service.
- Participate in ongoing training to develop product knowledge and sales skills.
Qualifications
- Passion for boating, sailing, or fishing is essential.
- No prior experience is required; on-the-job training will be provided.
